Confirmation 8th Grade

Confirmation was celebrated on Thursday March 10th at 4:00 PM. Bishop David M. O’Connell was the celebrant.

“Young people, if they know how to pray, can be trusted to know what to do with God’s call.”                                                                    Pope Benedict XVI

In an effort to hold students more accountable for their learning, students in grades 6, 7  will be tested after each unit in their book (4 times/year). A minimum of 70% average is required to move on to the next grade. Special consideration will be given for those with IEPs.

Grade 8 will have a mid-term and a final exam. Those students not achieving a 70% score will be given an assignment to complete to improve their score.

Confirmation Dress Code Requirements: All students and sponsors must be neatly dressed.

Girls: Dress, skirt and blouse or dress slacks, dress shoes. Dresses and skirts must be of the appropriate length for Church. Beware that spiky heels can catch in the carpeting causing tripping.

Boys: Dress pants or khakis with dress shirt and tie, dress shoes. No jeans, T-shirts or sneakers.

All students will wear robes – the girls will wear white and the boys will wear red. The robes will be distributed on designated days/times, to be emailed to families, as Confirmation day approaches.
